The wooden Puukko sheath is done; we put a Chestnut Gel Stain finish on it plus I've been rubbing it down with Neatsfoot oil for a while. Then I made a frog and a belt thong and have continued to create that beautiful hand-rubbed finish. Kwila wood is great for this sort of thing as it's very weather-resistant and takes a great polish.
I wish, however, that I wouldn't have rubbed oil into the frog, as it's sort of a suede material and it's pretty greasy now. I think it looked better light-brown. Ah well. If anybody has any ideas for removing oil from a piece of soft leather, let me know. Thanks:)
